New Year, New Leaf

Welcome back grade six from the Christmas break! I hope everyone enjoyed their time off to relax and spend time with family and friends. We have been back to school now for about a week now and many new units have begun. As mentioned in class I would like for the students to make a resolution to be more on top of their homework. I hope to start back with homeworkopoly and bonus homework soon!
There will be a math quiz on triangles and quadrilaterals on Tuesday so please make sure you complete the review and ask me about any questions you may have! If you have any magazines at home please send them to school. In health we are looking at body image and media's influence. These magazines won't be ruined in anyway, we will just be looking at the advertisements.

1 week left until Christmas break!!

This last few months have flown by! Things are winding down for Christmas break but I am still missing a few assignments from students. Please ensure these get done so that we can have fun the last few days of school!
On Tuesday, December 18th K-5 will be having their Christmas concert in the afternoon at 1:15 and then again in the evening at 7:00. Parents are welcome to come to the afternoon performance.
Thursday, December 20th we will have a movie afternoon in the classroom. Students are asked to bring any movies they think the class would enjoy. These movies must be school appropriate and the class will vote on one to watch. There will also me an assembly at 3:00 on Thursday in the gym
Friday is the last day of school before the break. Students will be dismissed at 2:30 on that day. Friday is pajama day as well as a movie in the gym. In the afternoon if time permits we will be playing board games in the classroom. Students can bring board games from home but there are also some in the classroom to enjoy.
Students can bring snacks for the movie afternoon on the 20th as well as in the afternoon of the 21st if they would like. Please do not bring pop to school.

November 28 Reminders

Tonight and tomorrow night is parent teacher interviews. Students are welcome to come with their parents to the interview.

On Friday students are asked to bring supplies that they might need to build a flying prototype. The flying device must be moved by air and move at least 30 cm.

Book orders are due on Friday, please bring in cheques and order forms by then.

I am still missing a few graphic novels from students. I need these in as soon as possible please!

Just a heads up!

Just thought I'd let you know well in advance, there will be a science test on Monday, November 19th. The test will be on what we've studied so far on flight. Your textbook and notes are a great way to study! You will be getting a review sheet this week which will also help you study.

Couple other reminders: -I will be taking in binders to check                                                    for organization and neatness
                                        -I will also be tallying up homework                                               assignments
           **** Each of these things are 10% of your grade on the your report card for each subject!!
